Is there a listing of what the # of beeps mean when boot up with Areca
card? |
The beep while starts up that is one of the controller POST (power
on self test) function. One beep means controller received one PCI
bus reset signal, so the beep number will depend on how many reset
commands from motherboard bios.

| What exactly are
"reading errors"? |
The reading error means controller can't read data from that disk.
It could be a disk firmware problem or a disk hardware problem. If
the reading error happens once after a long duty time, it should be
ok. If the reading error happens several times in a short duty time,
you may need to replace it first or replace this disk until it
reports fail.
